January

Bhagavata Mela Vidyalaya with the support from Lasya Mela laya performed after a three year break at Ravanasamudram on the auspicious Thai Poosam festival, standing ovation yet again.

February

Kala prashala YouTube channel hosted BMV ONLINE for Shivaratri fest.

Avvai kottam honoured Guru Sri S Natarajan and disciples of Bhagavata Mela Vidyalaya and Laasya Mela Laya with the title:  Natya Kalai Mani.

March

Priyamvadha Murali was invited as the virtual chief guest on women’s day honoured by Bank of Baroda, Melattur branch. Her motivational speech inspired many staffs and assembled invitees alike.

2023-24 Activities 11

April

Bhagavata Mela Vidyalaya had the honour and blessings to perform for Dharmapuram Aadhinam swamigal featuring compositions on Dharmasamvardhini Amman, presiding deity of Holy Thiruvaiyaru organised by Dr Kalaivendan, Avvai Kottam. The composition of Vidhushi Kamakshi Muthukrishnan and rendered by Aiyaru Rajeshwari was overwhelmingly well received by rasikas.

First ever Divya Desam experience at  Thiruthangal followed by a performance at Thirunaranapuram. Dignitaries from local town panchayat and the village community acknowledged support for the Vision of Vidyalaya.

May

First ever live orchestra experience organised by Shakthi Vinaka dance and music academy. Once again Vidyalaya’s work was well appreciated by founder Vidwan Satish Ramamoorthy, Singer Shobana muthaiah and Chief guest Guru Aruna Subramaniam  Thanjavur. 

Another divine Divya Desam experience at Yali Narasimhar temple at Thanjavur. Vaishaka Brahmotsavam at Sri Sivapriya sametha Unnathapureeshwarar temple, Melattur. We thank the utsavam committee members Sri Srikanth, Sri Mahalingam and all of the sevarthis who made this event possible in Melattur after a gap of three years to offer Samarpanam dedicated to our founder guru Sri S Natarajan, at the very place Vidyalaya was founded.

2023-24 Activities 6

June

7th year participation at Sri Garbarakshambigai temple, Thirukarukavoor. Honoured by head  postmaster Papanasam Smt Sumaty Guru, sub postmaster Thirukarukaavoor Sri Dharmalingam, Melattur sub postmaster Sri Selvam. We were humbled with initiatives of Sri Rajagopal, Retd Head Post Master General and Sri Karthi, Mail overseer.

July

Aadi pooram festival at Dharmasamvardhini temple. Vidyalaya brought live the history of 100 years as story says the Goddess gave Kummi Kolatta Dharshan to the temple security there. Story retold by Vidhushi Kamakshi Muthukrishnan featured young children if Vidyalaya and avvai kottam in Kummi. The dancers were awarded with Mannin Manam, recognition through Dr Kalaivendan ‘s Avvai Kottam. Music rendered by Aiyaru Rajeshwari.

September

Priyamvadha Murali, along with Karnataka Kala Shree Dr Padmaja Suresh, was part of the Unveiling of Adi Shankaracharya statue at Omkareshwar,  on invitation from govt of Madhya Pradesh.

Dr Sridevi Dhantibotla along with her disciples Himateja and Aruna came all the way from Hyderabad to orient the Vidyalaya and Lasya Mela Laya students in Kuchipudi, its history and its significant connections with Melattur village through an intensive workshop. Vidyalaya  was fortunate to learn the famed Melattur Kasinathayya shabdam from her as she herself hailed from the Bhagavutulu family.

October

Vijayadasami 2023 featured the Holy presence of Sri Sri Sri Ramanuja Jeeyar from Srivilliputhur Mutt.

Who had come all the way to Melattur to bless the students. 

Vidyalaya revived the Unchuvritti tradition apart from showcasing our rural cultural treasures that was accredited by Thanjavur tourism council and Intach Thanjavur.

November

Vidhushi Anuradha Narayanasawamy daughter disciple of Nada Yogi Phalghat K V Narayanasawamy  interacted online with Vidyalaya and Lasya Mela laya students that was inspiring and thought provoking for both schools. Managing profession and passion with ease was dealt with in-depth critical analysis.

December

Vidyalaya was part of Nivedanam, an initiative of Aatmalaya academy, led by Dr Padmaja Suresh in Bangalore. Unsung heroes of our ancient tradition and culture were duly honoured.

Pisuvati Sri Venkatasubramanian was honoured with Chakyar Koothu Rajan memorial award for his 40 years of service to Bhagavata Mela. This award was in turn dedicated to Guru Melattur Sri S Natarajan.
