May 30th

Smt Priyamvadha Murali, daughter disciple of Melattur Late Sri S Natarajan was invited by the alumni batch of 1978, PSG College of engineering and technology, Coimbatore, to share her art journey and experiences, serving the rural community of the melattur village, wherein economically weak children about 50 in number where trained for free in dance, through Bhagavata Mela Vidyalaya. She discussed as to how she is keeping up the vision set forth by her father- changing rural lives through art !Owing to pandemic reasons, it was a zoom meet and was well attended by over 60 active members and interactive question and answer sessions. The meeting was recorded for posterity. Sri Nadesan Sundaresan, President of Melbourne Tamil Sangam, inspired by the presentation, committed himself to a long lasting support for the initiatives of Vidyalaya.

Disciples of Bhagavata Mela Vidyalaya under guidance from Smt
Priyamvadha Murali were invited to participate in an online nonstop Muttamuzh Kalai Vizha for 1144.10 hrs and 47 days. This world record event was organised by group of world Tamil Sangams and featured live worldwide by Tamil America TV. Bhagavatha Mela Vidyalaya participants won the Orange World Record certificate for the same.

July

Smt Priyamvadha Murali, becomes a member of the World Dance Council, an UNESCO accredited organization based in France, the official world wide organization for Dance. She represents Bhagavatha Mela Vidyalaya which functions through funding from Bhagavata Mela Foundation. Based on her work merits for Vidyalaya, Bhagavatha Mela  Vidyalaya will be also accredited by the World Dance Council in the forthcoming year, 2022.

31st July

Smt Priyamvadha Murali was invited by centre for excellence for arts and culture, Shaun Jain College for women, Chennai, to present a tribute video dedicated to her Guru Sri S Natarajan. This was part of the centre’s tribute to guru series on the occasion of Guru Purnima! The video was posted in the official social media page of the college and reached the attention of many viewers.

September 11th

Bhagavatha Mela Vidyalaya was invited and participated in an online 100th year celebration commemorating Mahakavi Subramanya Bharathy’s death anniversary, yet again organised by forum of world Tamil sangams. This was featured live by Tamil America TV. All the participants won an special appreciation certificate from guest of honour Sri Niranjan Bharathy, great grandson of Mahakavi Bharathy. Sept 30th – October 15th

Bhagavata Mela Vidyalaya presented a 16 day online Sangeetha Natya Aradhana on its official YouTube channel where legends, artists and disciples worldwide paid homage to the founder guru, Melattur late Shri S Natarajan, through dance and music. This concept was visualized and conceived by Smt Priyamvadha Murali and executed with the support of her own dance school Laasya Mela Laya, based in Bangalore. The whole event won critical acclaim by legends, artists and viewers  worldwide that brought out the never before seen persona of Sri Natarajan who was a Guru par excellence.

October 15th

Keeping up the vision of Guru and founder Sri S Natarajan, his wife, Smt Anuradha Natarajan, managing trustee, initiated payments to support staffs of the Bhagavata Mela, affected by the pandemic, through sponsorships from well wishers. The deserving recipients of the contribution remained thankful to the managing trustee. Over 35 children of Vidyalaya and about 15 staffs were benefitted by way of this noble deed.

Bhagavata Mela Vidyalaya and Laasya Mela Laya had a grand premiere at the prestigious Florida Congress Session, Miami, a congregation of dance research works for betterment of society through art. Bhagavata Mela Vidyalaya, thus reached world stage in upkeeping the vision of its founder, changing lives through art, through this international forum. In memory and in dedication to the managing trustee of Bhagavata Mela Foundation, late Smt Anuradha Natarajan, Bhagavata Mela Vidyalaya launched a dance tribute at Indeco Swamimalai, invited by its founder and chairman Sri Steve Borgia. The legends of Tamil folk art of India, Dr Smt and Sri Navaneethakrishnans gave an inspiring voice message  acknowledging the noble life and times of Smt and Sri S Natarajan.
